Delivered by expert faculty within Quinnipiac's School of Health Sciences, the Navigating Breast Cancer: Understanding Screening Statistics, Health Disparities and the Role of Breast Health Navigators open enrollment program guides technologists and clinicians to improve implementation and support for breast health navigation programs that result in higher screening rates, earlier detection and improved patient outcomes. Attendees will earn 2 continuing education units (CEs).

Centered around the multifaceted aspects of breast cancer screening and health disparities, the Navigating Breast Cancer: Understanding Screening Statistics, Health Disparities and the Role of Breast Health Navigators open enrollment program emphasizes the vital role breast health navigators play in reducing barriers to care and fostering improved access and outcomes.

Examine the multifaceted role of breast health navigators in facilitating screening and navigation for patients.

Continuing Education Units (CEs)

You will earn 2 continuing education units (CEs) approved by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) in various healthcare professions and transfer learning from this program towards the completion of a degree at Quinnipiac University.

You are welcome to join us for this live event on our North Haven Campus or join virtually as part of our simulcast / webinar. Both modalities feature evening instruction spanning from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. The total estimated time commitment for attendees is around two hours.

Sample Schedule

The program will begin with an overview of the importance of screening and an analysis of statistics and issues related to health disparities. Additional discussions will investigate factors relating to patient outcomes and efforts to mitigate disparities. Real-life case studies and success stories will demonstrate the effectiveness of breast health navigation programs in improving screening rates and patient outcomes.

As part of the program, we will come together and consider advanced strategies to advocate for collaborative efforts that address challenges and champion equitable access to breast health services.
